At Little Pine State Park, NuPump was hired to relocate 1600 linear feet of steel debris boom. The 20 foot sections of boom, weighing just over one ton each, were hoisted by helicopter at their existing location, and flown over 1 mile to the new location near the dam. Some of the challenges that were faced on this project were, gaining access to the site where the debris boom was located, the distance that the boom had to be moved, and working in the fragile environment within the state park. The area where the debris boom was disassembled was between two mountain sides across the valley that Little Pine Creek runs through. With the use of a heavy lifting helicopter that remote area was easily accessed with a minimal impact to the environment. Once the sections were hoisted they were transported to Little Pine Lake, where the sections were to be reassembled. The reassembly of the sections was done with the use of boats and land based lifting equipment and was laid out to be reattached to the steel caisson anchor points.
